Privacy Policy

What we collect
- Account information: if you sign in with Google, we receive your email address and the display name you choose.
- Posts: the story, optional location, and optional country, state, and city you write when posting.
- Messages and replies: private messages and "Was it you?" replies you send.
- Reports and blocks: reports you submit and members you block, so we can keep the site safe.
Anonymous posts
You can post without signing in. Anonymous posts are not linked to any account, so we cannot connect them to you later — including for editing or deletion. Because of this, anonymous posts cannot receive private messages.
New posts are automatically scanned for phone numbers, email addresses, and other identifying details. Flags are visible to moderators only; the post text is never changed unless a moderator applies a chosen redaction.
Who can see what
- Posts and replies are public.
- Private conversations are visible only to the people in them.
- Reports are visible only to moderators. Moderators may review the content involved in a report, including private messages tied to a reported conversation.
- Profiles are visible to you, your chat partners, and moderators.
Email notifications
If you sign in, we may email you when someone replies to your post. You can turn email notifications off in your inbox preferences at any time. Safety-report alerts go to the moderation team.
Cookies and storage
We use browser storage to keep you signed in, remember your drafts, and store your notification preferences. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
Sharing and retention
We do not sell your data. Data is shared only with service providers that operate the site (hosting, email delivery, and sign-in) and with moderators acting under these policies. When you delete a post or your content is removed, it is deleted from the service.
Your choices
You can edit or delete your own posts, delete your conversations, sign out at any time, and contact us to ask about the data associated with your account. Anonymous posts cannot be edited or deleted after publishing because they are not linked to an account.
